Teacher of Drama

  • Start date: September 2024 / January 2025
  • Salary: MPS/UPS
  • Closing date for application: Friday 28th June 2024

The Heath School is excited to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a teacher of drama to join us at our school, that sits in the heart of the community of Runcorn.

Our school has been an extremely popular choice for students and parent/carers for many, many years. We are oversubscribed with over 1200 students on roll. We have consistently been the highest performing school in the area, outcomes have been extremely positive and are in line or above the national average and students have moved on to achieve their aspirations. However, we do not pride ourselves only on our academic performance but on our student-centred approach and the range of opportunities we provide our students through our curriculum and through our extra-curricular offer. That is The Heath Standard.

We care for our staff, as we care for our students. Their health and wellbeing is paramount, as we understand the pivotal role our staff play in the development of our school and its students. Our staff work incredibly hard, but equally, we work hard to ensure their work is as effective as possible.

Drama is the backbone of our Performing Arts Team and our extra-curricular programme, which involves not just clubs but annual Christmas and Summer shows and performances. There are no expectations regarding experience and the successful candidate would be a well-organised, vibrant, innovative practitioner who has in-depth curriculum knowledge. You will understand what it takes to improve student outcomes and give the students the learning experience they desire. The Drama Department is a team of two. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of an experienced subject leader but also be part of the wider faculty, which includes music, dance and art & photography, who all work closely together. Our facilities are excellent and our students love to learn. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop personally and further raise standards across the department, and you will be supported every step of the way by the team and the school.

For further information on the post and why you should work at The Heath School, then please see supporting documents, contact the school or even arrange for a visit.

The Heath is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and the post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
