We are seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic, and inspirational Science Technician to join our dynamic team at The Heath School. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students, work alongside great staff and contribute to the wider opportunities we offer our young people.

About the Role

As a Science Technician, you will:

  • You will be responsible for preparing equipment and materials for lessons, maintaining laboratory facilities, and providing technical support to teachers and students
  • Manage and maintain laboratory facilities, ensuring a safe and organized working environment
  • Provide technical support to teachers and students, answering questions and offering guidance.
  • Order and manage stock levels of equipment, materials, and consumables
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Model our values of Kindness, Integrity and Tenacity whilst having a passion for our students to Know more; Do more; Be more.  
  • Ensure the safeguarding of all children.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., BTEC, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a laboratory or educational setting (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality
  • Be passionate about working with children and seeing them flourish.
  • Be organised, proactive and professional.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
