• Royal blue socks
• Sports Trainers – laced, black or white with non-marking soles
• Gum shield/shin pads (optional)
• Football boots – for playing on grass (optional)

Students may also wish to purchase a Heath School hooded top, this is an optional addition to the PE kit, and is for use during PE lessons and when representing the school at sports fixtures.

PE kit and uniform are available from Touchline in Warrington.

Equipment

For every lesson the minimum amount of equipment required is a school bag, pencil case, two pens (black or blue), red pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, scientific calculator, student planner and the correct books for the day’s lessons.

Mobile Phones

The use of mobile phones is not allowed in the school – however it is understood that some students may carry them so that they can contact home after school. In this case the phone must be switched off before entering the building and remain switched off throughout the school day including break and lunch time. Mobile phones must always be kept out of sight and not be turned back on until the student has left the building. If parents wish to contact their child during the school day, then they should phone school and a message will be passed to their child. If a phone is seen or heard it will be confiscated, taken to the front office, recorded, locked away and returned on Friday afternoon after school. If a phone is confiscated on a Friday, it will be returned on the Monday.

This protocol has become necessary due to problems arising from widespread use of mobile phones in schools throughout the country. These have included the spreading of illegally taken images, illegal videoing, and cyber-bullying. These can cause great distress in addition to the obvious interruption to teaching and learning. We also truly value the impact on students socialising and communicating with each other in the absence of a phone which we believe has a huge influence on our culture.

Chewing Gum

Chewing gum is banned from the school site supporting the aim of keeping our environment clean and litter free.

Food

All food must be eaten inside, in the allocated refectory areas and all students must remain on the ground floor at lunch and break time.

Aerosols

Aerosols are banned from the school site to ensure the health and safety of all students, staff and visitors, who potentially may suffer adverse reactions when aerosols are used.

Make-up

Make –up and nail varnish are not allowed. Students wearing make-up and nail varnish will be asked to remove it.

Hair

Hair should be an appropriate style for school. We do not accept extreme hairstyles. You should not have a shaved head below a number two setting. Long hair must be kept tidy. Students should have hair of a natural colour as artificial colours are seen as “extreme”.
Hair should be in the natural colour range e.g., blonde, brunette, natural red. Hair accessories are not encouraged but when worn should be subtle.

Jewellery

One pair of small earrings and one ring may be worn. Earrings must be worn in the lobe of the ear. No other jewellery should be worn. No nose studs, tongue studs or facial piercings.

Bag and Water Bottle

The school provide each student a Heath school branded water bottle and pencil case. If these need to be replaced, then they can be purchased directly from school. If you wish to provide your own water bottle, then it must be made of clear hard plastic.
