What is the school-led programme?
You will complete Initial Teacher Training as part of a school-based programme for one academic year, with 6 weeks spent in another school for your alternative placement.
How long is the course?
The course is for one academic year, starting each year in September.
What are my teaching expectations?
For the training route you gradually build up your teaching solo percentage and you are never left in the classroom on your own, there will always be a teacher present.
What will I achieve at the end of my training?
You will qualify with a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status and 60 Masters Level Credits.
I have a 2:2 degree classification; do I qualify for entry onto the school-led programme?
Yes, we accept 2:2 and above.
I don’t have a GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in English/Maths yet, can I apply for the course and achieve these grades before I start my course?
No, you must have the Grade C / Level 4 or above at the time of your application.
What else do I need to qualify for the school-led Programme?
You must have a degree in a subject specialism relevant to the school-led programme that you are applying for. Your degree must contain 50% content of the subject in which you wish to train to teach. This can be evaluated through your degree transcript.
