During the autumn, spring and summer term we run STEM activities on Saturday mornings for some of our primary school students. Students are invited to the Heath with their parents and then take part in a range of fun STEM activities.
Our next STEM Saturdays will run on 28th November 2015 and 5th December 2015. Invitations will be sent out to year 4 & 5 students nearer the time, through their primary schools.
Last year we had balloon rockets, computer animations, puzzle solving, egg drop parachutes and an enterprise game for our young entrepreneurs! We also had a visit from one of the keepers at Knowsley Safari Park who brought some interesting friends along! Each session used a combination of science, technology, ICT, engineering and maths to show students how STEM subjects are used in school and in life.
Our sessions this year are based around biomimicry – science and technology mimicking things from nature.
These session are enjoyed by both the students and the parents, as you can see from some of our pictures!
