We took 35 students from years 8, 9, 10 and 11 to Killington in Vermont USA for 5 days of fantastic skiing.
Most of the students had never skied before but at the end of the second day were able to ski down green runs from top to bottom. By the end of the fourth day some groups were tackling black diamond runs and some very challenging terrain, by the end of the 5th day some of the students were skiing faster than the experienced staff!
At the beginning of the week we were spoilt by the weather with blue ski’s and fresh powder. By the end of the week is was blowing a gale and raining BUT the students coped really well and learnt to ski a variety of different snow conditions.
We somehow managed to have 6 of the most experienced ski instructors on the mountain, who were fantastic at instructing the students and full of compliments for the way that The Heath students didn’t complain and were so quick to learn! This was certainly another successful ski trip where life long memories have been made and for some a passion for skiing that will last a life time.
