Sixth Form dress code

A dress code will apply in the Sixth Form so that students set a good example to the more junior members of the school. It will prepare the students for a possible future career where many may be required to wear smart business attire and is appropriate for working at the Business Park.

Whilst we have tried to ensure that the dress code is not too prescribed it is defined as ‘smart business wear’.

Males: Collared shirt and tie, navy/black/grey jumper, tank top or cardigan, trousers and appropriate shoes.

Females: Blouse, navy/black/grey knee length pinafore, skirt or trousers, jumper or cardigan and smart shoes/ankle boots.

(No denim or leather, jeans, skinny jeans, jeggings, leggings, shorts, cropped tops, hoodies.  Flip-flops and trainers are not allowed)

Hair : We will not permit extremes in terms of hairstyle. Added hair colours must be subtle. Close shaved heads and patterns cut       into hair are not acceptable.

Jewellery: Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery should be discreet.

Facial piercings and jewellery or other visible piercings are not permitted, with the exception of two earrings in each ear.

Make up: Discreet make up is allowed.

The final say about the appropriateness of a student’s attire belongs to the Head of Sixth Form and Principal.  Should an individual’s dress be considered inappropriate the individual will be sent home to change.
