James and Teddy Chaplehow, who play for Widnes Vikings and are former students of the school, returned to The Heath to tackle each other in a charity rowing challenge. They joined forces with pupils in February to raise funds for the Steve Prescott Foundation.
The Rowathon event managed to raise over £500 pounds for the charity, which was set up to fund research at The Christie into a rare form of cancer that claimed the life of former St Helens and Hull player Steve Prescott.
PE teacher Mr Fildes, who organised the event, said: “The aim was for each of the school’s four houses to row as many kilometres as possible throughout the day. The Green House was victorious by the end and between all the houses the students, staff and parents had rowed from Runcorn to Portsmouth!!!’’
The event was brilliant and everyone had a great time.
