Half-term letter to parents

17th May 2018

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to inform you that school will close for the half term break on Friday, 25th May 2018 at the usual time and the buses will collect students as normal; we re-open on Monday, 4th June 2018.   School is also closed on Friday 29th June 2018 for a staff INSET day.  School closure details can always be found in the school newsletter or on the school website.

I am pleased to inform you that a new contractor, Kier has been appointed to undertake phase 2 of building programme i.e. the demolition of the old school and the landscaping of the playing fields. In the new building we still have some snagging issues and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA) has appointed a company called Hesis to undertake this.

The consultation regarding the closure of the Sixth Form has been carried out by The Heath Family Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr David Donnelly will be providing governors with a report on the result of this in the near future and I will let you know further details when I have received them.

Please note that chewing gum is not to be brought into school and I would be grateful if you could make your children aware of this.

We have now moved into the busiest time of the school year with the commencement of the exam season. Those students who are attending revision sessions in school during the whit break have been informed in advance of the dates and times of the sessions. Reception will be staffed should you need to contact the school for any reason.

Yours sincerely
J Jardine
