Alternative Provision

Subject Overview

Subject areas which aim to stimulate, enhance and diversify the learning of students at KS4. The aim of these subject areas is to ensure that as many career routes as possible are available to our students post 16.

Key Stage 4

Courses Offered:

The Arts Award, Level 1

BTEC Work skills Level 1 and 2

BTEC First Award Travel and Tourism Level 1/2

Extended Work Experience, Year 10 and 11.


All courses are portfolio based which requires the students to compile evidence of their knowledge throughout the course of study.

Alternative Provision is run in partnership with “Changing Education” our work experience agent, who source, monitor and assess progress on work experience.  Students participate on work experience for one to three days per week attending GCSE classes for the rest of the week.  Students also receive the opportunity to study BTEC First Award in Travel and Tourism Level 1/2.  Successful completion of work experience leads to the BTEC Work Skills Qualification Level 1/2.
